The snare is the wire or string inside the cajon that creates the bright, buzzy crack when you strike near the top of the front plate. On the Cratez, an internal adjustment mechanism lets you tighten or loosen the snare. Set the lever at the bottom to disable the snare and higher to make the snare more prominent.
